Privacy Policy
This policy explains how [registered entity name] trading as Hunter Valley IT (“we”, “us”) handles personal information for the open·broadcast managed relay service, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Last updated: [date].
1. What we collect
- Account information — email address, account name, and password (stored only as a salted hash).
- Service configuration — the stream destinations, session settings and device pairings you create. Secrets such as stream keys and pre-shared keys are stored in dedicated fields and are never placed in URLs or logs.
- Usage & metering — session start/stop times, bytes transferred (egress) and related counters, used to operate the Service and calculate any usage-based charges.
- Recordings — only where you enable session recording; retained for the period shown in your account, then deleted.
- Technical data — IP addresses, request logs and diagnostic data generated when you use the Service.
- Payment data — if and when paid plans launch, card details are handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
We do not access the content of Your Content beyond what is technically required to transport and deliver it, and we do not use it for advertising or model training.
2. Why we use it
To provide and operate the Service; authenticate you; meter usage and bill any paid plans; maintain security, prevent abuse and debug faults; and communicate service and account information (including password-reset and verification email).
3. Disclosure & third parties
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Service — for example cloud/VPS and network infrastructure, our payment processor, and transactional email delivery — and only as needed for those functions, or where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Where your data is stored
Relay infrastructure and the primary database are hosted in Australia. Some providers (for example email delivery or payments) may process limited data overseas; where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, billing and tax records). Recordings follow your configured retention. On account closure we delete or de-identify your data after a reasonable period, subject to legal retention obligations.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures including TLS in transit, hashed credentials, per-tenant isolation of relay sessions and restricted egress. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users and the OAIC of any eligible data breach as required by law.
7. Cookies
The management panel uses a small amount of local browser storage to keep you signed in. The marketing site uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Your rights
Under the APPs you may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Contact us at [privacy contact email]. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes & contact
We may update this policy; material changes will be notified via the Service or by email. Privacy enquiries: [privacy contact email].
